It was the industry’s best kept secret then it got out. Then there were more products on the market than you could sample in a lifetime, and the reason is it’s very simple and reasonably cheap to make.

Decent Salt Spray prices start at around $30AU on average and a few luxury brands can head towards the $90AU mark. If you use it often enough, as most of us do it can become an expensive “must-have.”

If you love the joys of instant body and texture but don’t fancy a dip in the ocean every day to save money this is one of the better D.I.Y recipes.

1. Fill a spray bottle with 1 cup of warm water.

2. Mix in two tablespoons of Dead Sea salt, (it’s rich in minerals and your scalp will love you for it).

3. Add 1 teaspoon of Aloe Vera gel.

4. Add 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil.

Screw the top on and shake until ingredients are mixed well.

Spray mixture onto damp or dry hair. Scrunch and twist hair to enhance waves and bring out texture.

Buying all the ingredients will cost around the same as a bottle of factory made but you’ll have enough ingredients to make enough for… well that’s up to you but you could almost start selling it yourself and you’ll know exactly what’s in the bottle rather than preservatives, chemicals, unnatural fragrances and you can sleep easy knowing you’re the only animal it’s been tested on.
