How did you get your start in the industry?
I was fortunate enough to get my start assisting many of Australia's top hair and makeup artists. Lots of hard work and dedication pays off. Shooting with creatives who inspire you is the key to producing beautiful work.
Do you have a signature look or style that you are known for?
My skin is one of my signatures. I love to create a beautiful glow which is natural and effortless.
What was one of your biggest career challenges and how did you overcome it?
I recently won a nationwide competition to become the L'Oréal Paris Makeup Director for Australia. There were many talented Artists who entered which made for a challenging night at the event. I had 20 minutes to execute a brief I was given on stage using limited products, I drew on my recent travels to New York and Milan as inspiration to create my look. I feel privileged that the judges chose me as the winner.
Must have products or tool for your kit?
Skin care is important to me and I love to spend time prepping the skin to get it ready for the makeup. The L'Oréal Paris Lumi Magique Primer is the perfect prepping product for enhancing the skin’s luminosity. I love to curl the lashes and use lashings of Miss Manga Mascara to open up the eyes. I am obsessed with beautiful brows as they frame the face and are key to creating a flawless makeup. L'Oréal Paris Brow Artist Plumper is my favourite product to brush up the brows and keep them in place.
Who are the role models who have inspired you?
Pat McGrath has always been one of my favourite Make Up artists I look up to. Her iconic runway looks and creativity is incredibly inspirational. Val Garland has the strength to create minimal to avant-garde looks for editorial and runway, it would be a dream to be on her team one day. Sir John who creates Beyonce's iconic makeups looks and is the L'Oréal Celebrity Makeup Artist, is another personal favourite makeup artist.
What's the next big trend you're starting to see sneak in?
We saw a lot of clean skin teamed with a liner or rich lip colours, from deep burgundy o almost black during fashion month. As well as subtle smokey eyes with touches of glitter.
